Terms of Service

These Terms of Service govern your use of Life Chapters. By using the app, website, or shared-book features, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use Life Chapters.

Important: Life Chapters is a creative writing and storytelling tool. You remain responsible for the content you enter, review, export, and share.

1. Eligibility and Accounts

You must be legally permitted to use the service in your location. You are responsible for the activity that occurs under your account and for keeping your login methods secure.

2. What Life Chapters Provides

Life Chapters lets you create biography projects, answer guided prompts, manually edit chapters, upload project media, use AI-assisted writing tools, export book-style output, and generate share links for books you choose to share.

3. Your Content

You retain ownership of the text, images, audio, and other content you submit to Life Chapters. You grant us a limited, non-exclusive license to host, store, reproduce, process, and display that content only as needed to operate the service for you, including generating outputs, syncing projects, creating exports, and serving shared links you request.

4. Shared Links and Public Content

If you create a share link, you are choosing to make the included book content available to anyone who has that link. You should only share content you are comfortable making accessible in that way. You are responsible for disabling or removing shared content if it should no longer be public.

5. AI Features and Output Review

AI-generated text and speech transcription may contain mistakes, omissions, or phrasing you do not want. You are responsible for reviewing and editing output before relying on it, publishing it, printing it, or sharing it with others.

6. Acceptable Use

You may not use Life Chapters to:

Break the law or help others do so.
Upload, generate, or share content that is abusive, threatening, hateful, exploitative, or sexually exploitative.
Violate another person’s privacy, publicity, copyright, trademark, or other rights.
Attempt to interfere with, probe, scrape, overload, or disrupt the service or other users’ access.
Misrepresent your identity or use the service to deceive others about the origin of content.

7. Enforcement

We may suspend access, remove shared content, disable links, or terminate accounts if we reasonably believe these Terms are being violated, if content creates legal or safety risk, or if the service is being abused.

8. Third-Party Services

Life Chapters depends on third-party services for hosting, authentication, and AI processing. Their outages or changes may affect parts of the app, and some features may evolve as those providers change.

9. No Guarantee of Continuous Availability

We work to keep Life Chapters reliable, but the service may change, be interrupted, or be unavailable from time to time. Features may be updated, improved, limited, or removed.

10. Disclaimers

Life Chapters is provided on an “AS IS” and “AS AVAILABLE” basis, without warranties of any kind to the fullest extent permitted by law. We do not guarantee that outputs will be accurate, complete, suitable for publication, or free from errors.

11. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Life Chapters and its operator will not be liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, special, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for loss of data, profits, goodwill, or business interruption arising from or related to use of the service.

12. Termination and Deletion

You may stop using the service at any time. Account deletion tools are available inside the app. We may also terminate or restrict access if needed to protect the service, comply with law, or enforce these Terms.

13. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms as the product and legal requirements evolve. Continued use after an updated version is posted means you accept the revised Terms.
